Context of the Problem One of the oldest and most fundamental questions in human knowledge is the question of reality. What is reality, why does something exist rather than not exist, why do countless conceivable possibilities fail to become actual, and by what mechanism do certain states stabilize into what is recognized as “real.” These questions span philosophy, physics, theology, epistemology, and more recently extend into data science, artificial intelligence, complex systems, and information theo
